REMspace – Eure Einschätzung?

Mir ist ein Bericht über REMspace begegnet – eine Firma, die angeblich die erste erfolgreiche Kommunikation zwischen zwei Menschen in getrennten luziden Träumen durchgeführt haben will.

Auf den ersten Blick klingt das natürlich spektakulär:

Zwei Menschen bekommen unabhängig voneinander einen luziden Traum, ein zufällig generiertes „Traumwort“ wird an die erste Person übertragen, diese spricht es im Traum nach, und die zweite Person empfängt es später im eigenen Traumzustand.

REMspace ist ein Startup, und solche Ankündigungen können irgendwo zwischen echter Forschung, übertriebenem Marketing und Wunschdenken liegen. Sie verkaufen auf jedenfall eine REMBrille. In wie fern die besonders ist oder nur das was wir schon kennen, habe ich noch nicht geschaut. Ich hatte noch gar keine Zeit mich damit zu beschäftigen und wollte das Thema daher erstmal nur hier ablegen.

Vielleicht hat ja jemand anders Zeit sich das kritisch anzuschauen und zu beurteilen; was da dran ist oder nicht. Jemand der gerne rechergiert und kritische Fragen stellt.

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Researchers at REMspace, a California-based startup, have achieved a historic milestone, demonstrating that lucid dreams could unlock new dimensions of communication and humanity’s potential. Using specially designed equipment, two individuals successfully induced lucid dreams and exchanged a simple message.

Lucid dreams occur when a person is aware they are dreaming while still in the dream state. This phenomenon happens during REM sleep and has numerous potential applications, from solving physiological problems to learning new skills. In earlier research, REMspace demonstrated that facial electromyography sensors could decode specific sounds made in dreams. This led to the development of Remmyo, a dream language detectable through sensitive sensors.

On September 24, participants were sleeping at their homes when their brain waves and other polysomnographic data were tracked remotely by a specially developed apparatus. When the server detected that the first participant entered a lucid dream, it generated a random Remmyo word and sent it to him via earbuds. The participant repeated the word in his dream, with his response captured and stored on the server. Eight minutes later, the next participant entered a lucid dream. She received the stored message from the first participant and confirmed it upon awakening, marking the first-ever “chat” exchanged in dreams. Additionally, two other people were able to communicate with the server through their dreams.

This achievement results from nearly five years of rigorous research and technological development. Since the first communication within lucid dreams on September 24, the researchers have been continuously refining their technology, achieving better results with each new attempt. To push the boundaries further, REMspace is setting its sights on the next challenge: enabling real-time communication in lucid dreams. Although this is a far more complex goal, the team is optimistic it can be accomplished within a few months.

Ohne dass ich das ganze jetzt lese, überlege ich gerade die die Theorie, unter der das möglich wäre. Das Kommunizieren aus dem Traum heraus müsste ja eigentlich ganz gut möglich sein, z.b über morsezeichen von augenbewegungen etc. Ein kurzes Wort oder ähnliches.

Die Frage ist, wie der Empfang möglich ist. Gibt es unter den erfahrenen Klarträumer*innen jemanden, der oder die in der Lage ist, Außenreize zu verarbeiten, ich meine auf eine sinnige Art und Weise? Es ist nämlich, denke ich, eher eine Sache des Empfangens, das problematischer wäre.

Ich muss zugeben dass ich jetzt faul war, also so interessiert faul, und mich tatsächlich mit der Technik nicht auseinandergesetzt habe, mit der das möglich sein könnte.

Daher stelle ich mal einfach ganz neugierig die Frage, wer kann im Klartraum Außenreize verarbeiten oder hat schon erste Erfahrungen damit gemacht?

Michael Raduga ist ja immer sehr enthusiastisch mit seinen Technikapplikationen. Die "Schlafmaske" bietet die Möglichkeit, akkustische oder optische Signale in den Traum zu senden. Ich wüsste auch nicht, warum es nicht möglich sein sollte, im Traum gesprochene Wörter über eine Art "Hirnscan" zu dekodieren. AI Systeme sind sehr gut darin, Muster zu erkennen. Das so, eine Zweiwegekommunikation möglich ist, würde mich daher nicht verwundern.  
Ob das jedoch die nächste, technische Revolution nach AI sein wird, bleibt abzuwarten.
Aber es gibt bestimmt viele, die ein Interesse daran hätten, Informationen aus Träumen zu extrahieren.
